Assignment 4: Architecture and Interiors

Clement

Clement Xue: Cathedral Parish of Christ the Light

Given that it is Holy Week, I wanted to capture the interior of a church. Cathedral Parish in Oakland is the newest Catholic Cathedral to be constructed, and I really like how the design allows natural light to filter in (reminiscent of how light filters through a canopy of tall redwood trees in a wooded glade).

I used a tripod and my Canon Rebel + 18-55mm kit lens (Exposure: 1/800s, Aperture: f/3.5). Unlike a typical gothic cathedral with very little light, this space was much brighter and easier to photograph. I stitched 36 photos (3 rows x 12 photos) using autostitch to create this.
